Vehicle Description
When the owner of a car hands you a full flight case of documents, you know it's going to be a good car. And this XJS really is.
Finished in Arctic Blue with Cream leather, powered by the wonderful 5.3-litre V12 and having covered just 31,600 miles, it's like this car has been stuck in a time warp.
History & Provenance
Both owners have been fastidious in their approach to record keeping. The flight case contains the original sales invoice, brochures, warranty letter and even the original customer survey with its return envelope. Nearly every tax disc since new is there, alongside invoices documenting servicing, tyres and other works throughout its life.
Even the original touch-up stick is still there, along with two sets of keys. Look underneath and you'll still find original stickers on various components. This is one of the most detailed history packs we've seen.
Originality
Open the boot and the story continues. The spare wheel appears never to have been used, alongside the complete Jaguar-branded tool kit and original jack. The tonneau cover and storage bag remain, as does the original carry bag for the removable stereo – a fantastic period detail allowing you to take the stereo with you when leaving the car.
Luxury & Driving
Electrically adjustable heated seats, cruise control and an electric roof make this a proper luxury GT. Even the roof reminds you how simple things used to be – unclip two catches, press the button and you're good to go.
Then there's the 5.3-litre V12. The gearbox should almost have a 'W' for waft instead of 'D' for Drive. It glides along never feeling like it's trying, but when an overtake presents itself, put your foot down and it pulls its boots on and goes.
Summary
For us, it's the completeness that makes this XJS special. 31,600 miles, two owners, remarkable originality and a flight case documenting its life almost from day one.
A proper time-warp XJS V12.
Jaguar at its best – Space, Pace and Grace.
