Vehicle DescriptionWhen youre handed three folders of history with a car, you know it hasnt simply been cared for it has been treasured. This DB4 is exactly that, benefiting from remarkable provenance, extensive restoration and long-term enthusiast ownership. Originally supplied new in December 1960 to Mr Rennison, the car left the factory finished in Satin Bronze over Black Connolly hide. After two further UK owners, it was exported to South Africa by J.W. Treger Esq, where it remained until being repatriated to the UK in 2009. Later that year, the car was purchased by Mr Helm in Holland, who commissioned a comprehensive restoration. During this period, the car was refinished in Silver Birch with Fawn Connolly hide, while also benefiting from desirable upgrades including an SS-specification engine with triple SU carburettors and a 5-speed dogleg gearbox from an 1980s Aston Martin V8, greatly improving drivability. Purchased into a UK collection in 2010, the current owner acquired the car in 2012 and immediately entrusted renowned Aston Martin specialist Martin Brewer of Runnymede Motor Company to carry out mechanical sorting, a service and convert the speedometer back to MPH before collection. In 2014, the car underwent a substantial engine-out restoration, with the body stripped and refinished in the stunning Rolls-Royce Blue it wears today. Then in 2020, a further £20,000+ mechanical overhaul was completed including engine ancillaries, cooling system, front & rear suspension rebuild, steering overhaul and rear axle work. The history file is exceptional, documenting the journey of this remarkable DB4 through invoices, photographs and ownership records. A beautifully sorted example that blends classic Aston Martin charm with tasteful upgrades for modern usability. |
